Who we are
Welcome to NexTonal Winds, a newly-formed chamber wind ensemble based in the vibrant Triad Region of North Carolina. Founded in the spring of 2024, we made our debut performance on September 4, 2024, and have since been committed to bringing both classic and contemporary wind music to audiences far and wide.

Our ensemble draws inspiration from traditional harmonie ensembles while also pushing the boundaries by embracing new compositions written for our unique instrumentation. With a flexible instrumentation ranging from a traditional octet to a dectet, our sound is as dynamic as it is diverse. We are deeply committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, and strive to amplify underrepresented voices within the wind music genre.

At the helm of NexTonal Winds is Dr. Timothy Heath, an internationally recognized conductor with a passion for chamber winds and wind band music. Known for his expertise in both chamber music and orchestral conducting, Dr. Heath brings a wealth of experience, a deep love of music, and an unwavering commitment to artistic excellence.
